so it transpires that I'm going for a drink with 'Joe', aka 'Door B' (in the regard of: "Behind Door A is a sandy blonde, green-eyed 20-year-old industrial design student who loves me... and behind Door B is a dark brunette, brown-eyed 26-year-old designer who may just kind of fancy me").

my resolution, however, is to treat it as a work-related, totally innocent drink with a friend met through work, and it's so innocent that yes I have told Door A about it, and there is no problem.

but tomorrow night I shall meet this Door B for my drink.

speaking of problems, i have a huge problem in terms of what to get Door A for xmas. Ack!
