< fast car | posted at 6:10 pm on August 26, 2005 > so on andrew's birthday, we go to a film shop in the city - he has a surprise for me, which i had begged him to tell me beforehand as isn't it against the rules to surprise someone else on your birthday?!? - and he says 'so. lightmeter. i'm going to buy you a lightmeter.' i am so shocked and taken aback, and tell him no! he can't spend five hundred dollars on me! but no. he is adamant. however there isn't a good range there so we postpone the purchase till the next week.see, i have this amazing medium format camera i bought on ebay, but have no lightmeter, so whenever i use it (which has been once so far) i have to take my 35mm slr and use that as a meter. he says 'you have to get a lightmeter before we go to africa, and i don't want that beautiful camera sitting around never being used. this way, you have to take photos every week and show me.' sweetest. person. ever. love him to bits. also, someone came to me with a huge proposition, and i am very excited about its potential. i got asked to write a film. so that's what i'm gonna do. very interesting, frightening, and yet exciting at the same time. sipping champagne at work till it's home time. which is soon. i have a dinner to go to first, then will be heading to a 21st where i hope i will have much fun. 2.5 weeks till i leave for south africa. fucking exciting if you ask me. fucking, fucking exciting. those last five |
