< close to you | posted at 9:49 pm on January 08, 2004 > so many changes, so many changes.i put in my deposit today. i'm moving out when i get back from india, around late feb-early march. it's going to be a tight financial squeeze - but really, i don't mind. i don't mind spending a bit of money - even if it's shit, even if i will live to regret it, at least i will have experienced it. i can afford it. because i feel like i need a bit of independence (and it took me two hours to get home yesterday, whereas it will only take twenty minutes tops where i will be living). problem is, i will live with 3 other students, and i don't know who... this is university housing, which means my parents are less worried - you know, safety and stuff. and i'm less worried too. what i do worry about is which losers i might end up living with. i guess if i plan for the worst, anything will be a nice surprise. right? so this means i have to plan for having a 'basic furniture package' and nothing else. this is: bed, desk, chest of drawers, chair. there's data and phone connection but i'm finally going to get the laptop i've been talking about for ages. to remain internet-accessible. have to buy a mirror, lamp... bring linen, dishes and pots and pans and stuff... medication... so many things to be thinking about. so now i'm shopping for a laptop. it looks like it's going to be an iBook G4. fast and cheaper than a powerbook. my! (and i'm still as convicted on my affirmation as ever) those last five |
